Arlene Buehler is an experienced CIO/CDO and a business graduate specializing in business informatics. Since the end of 2025, she has been serving as Chief Information Officer of BLG Logistics Group AG & Co. KG, where she is responsible for the strategic direction of IT, positioning it as a driver of innovation and an enabler—with clear, measurable results for the business. Her career of over 20 years began at Siemens AG in international corporate IT roles. After several years as an entrepreneur in the manufacturing, tech and renewable energy industry, she joined the Volkswagen Group in 2014, lastly serving as Head of IT Project Portfolio Management in the corporate Group IT division. At the beginning of 2020, she took over the leadership of IT Operational Excellence within the Group CIO division of Deutsche Bahn AG and, in June 2020, established the new group function “Group IT Portfolio & Performance Management.” At the end of 2021, she became CIO and CDO of DB Cargo, where she played a key role in driving the digitalization of Europe’s largest rail freight company. In terms of expertise, she combines deep know-how in IT project and portfolio management with a clear specialization in digital platforms, data management, and business transformation. Her focus: positioning IT as a strategic driver that scales innovation, manages digital portfolios based on value, and translates transformation into measurable business impact.
